Comments: Why Prager Isn't A Christian...but What Kind Of Christian Should He Be?
Comments Sections are my guilty pleasure.
Hey Kids,
I tried to help someone in the comments section. I do this all the time and some of these interactions are spicy. Some are intellectually stimulating. All of them get memory-holed a few hours after they end. I figured it might be fun to start posting them here. Iron sharpens iron. Let me know what you think.
Prager was asked why he wasn’t a Christian. I am more curious about which kind of Christian he would choose to be. What I don’t mention in the comments is that Prager frequently lavishes praise on the LDS church and its members - as he has done during my two different interactions with him in person. #babysteps
My comment thread will make more sense if you watch the first 2 minutes, but you don’t have to.
Prager essentially argued that Christians believe revelation continued for a few decades longer than Jews.
She started well enough by admitting she didn’t comprehend what I wrote and feigned that she was seeking clarity. She is correct that in modern creedal / consensus “c”hristianity salvation is not about exaltation. Not at all. That’s why she’s confused. Heaven and Hell are binary so the spectrum is tripping her up. You are either 100% right or 100% wrong…and that thinking will reappear in her future response.
Re: complete version. She’s astute, it’s exactly like I am saying that. Let’s flip it around and ignore her lecture.
This is what you are going for in an interaction. She has to either explain that all 50k+ versions or christianity are the same or that believes in a lesser version. There really aren’t any other places to go…
In the first paragraph, she unwittingly demonstrated how the Great Apostasy occurred. Again, she’s good.
Since she admits she doesn’t know what I believe…and then tries to tell me what I believe. (I could do a separate post on this paragraph) Its important to respond in terms of something she does comprehend so she can see her role with a little more clarity…
Few Christians wouldn’t cringe at the thought that they could be identified as woke or leftist in ANY way…but how much time has your average religious person spent thinking about what that would mean in a spiritual/doctrinal/religious context? I can hear the pastor’s voice in her comments line by line, year after year…doing all of her thinking for her.
As Ronald Reagan might have said, “The trouble with our (spiritually) liberal friends is not that they’re ignorant; it’s just that they know so much that isn’t so”
I checked her profile after the exchange and she recently shared a Tim Pool video about Donald Trump. Eureka. Completely checks the box for someone who has been politically red-pilled. Hopefully she will see that she has been getting too much spiritual CNN (Church of the Nicean Narrative) and people she trusts have been willing to deceive her for their benefit.
So far, no response..which gives me hope.
